Create a Space to Consciously Fall Apart

In this video from the 2020 Embodied Men’s Leadership Training private retreat in Mount Shasta, John dispels the myth that if we let ourselves feel deep emotions, we might fall apart and never come back together again.

You’ll learn:

  • There is no benefit to suppressing your emotions

  • If you let yourself feel deep emotions, you might need a little more space to attend to the truth of your heart than you usually take, but you’d be fine

  • In fact, if you were to let yourself feel your emotions, you would likely be more relatable and more trustable to the people around you

  • Good feminine practice is a force of nature, like a tsunami, volcano or storm, so it’s natural for it to wash things away, uproot things, open things, and make things messy - that’s part of the beauty of feminine practice

  • Most people in their masculine have a rigidity, which is a form of a closure

  • You can have boundaries without being rigid or closed

  • When you open your body, you release toxins and stored emotions in your tendons, bones, sinews, and muscle fibers, so it’s normal to be a little messy

If you’re worried about falling apart, or need to fall apart, create a space to consciously fall apart: Create a 20-30 minute container to let yourself move and feel deep emotions. Then finish the practice like a yogi on a mountain, deeply connected to consciousness and rooted into the ground, and then get onto your day.
