A Simple Practice That Any Couple Can Do

In this video from the June 2020 Art of Spiritual Intimacy online weekend immersion, John works with a couple to demonstrate a simple sexual yogic practice that any couple can do.

You’ll learn:

  • To begin, you and your partner will establish a nervous system resonance that helps you both to relax.

  • The Masculine partner sets the tone for breath. If the Feminine partner breathes faster than the Masculine partner, they might take one long breath for every two of their Feminine partner’s breaths.

  • If you feel comfortable, the Feminine partner can sit on the Masculine partner’s lap with your bellies touching, such that you can feel your bellies “kissing” on the inhale.

  • The Feminine partner makes their body an invitation by softening the front of their body and relaxing into the back of their body.

  • Practice looking beyond the surface of your partner and into their heart, so that your hearts begin to “kiss” on the inhale.

  • The Feminine partner expresses through movement, pleasure and energy. They can bring any flavor of energy, like wild animal, innocence, snowflake, playful kitten, volcano, angel, or “She who must be claimed.”

  • As the Feminine partner brings more energy, the Masculine partner breathes it down into the base of both of your bodies, grounding and anchoring the Feminine partner with breath.

  • The Masculine partner provides structure by bringing breath, awareness, a strong spine, and by holding your Feminine partner with one hand on the back of their heart and one hand on their sacrum.

  • The more structure the Masculine brings, the more energy the Feminine can bring. This is the foundation for sexual polarity.
